Another week has passed by, meaning that it's that time when Gigwise rounds up exactly what has happened in music over the last seven days.
The week has been surrounded by news coverage about the London riots that began over the weekend (August 6-8), continuing into the week and spreading to other UK cities such as Birmingham and Manchester.
Amongst the destruction that the riots have brought came the sad news that the Sony PIAS distribution warehouse in Enfield, London had been burned, destroying dozens of independent UK record labels' stock with it. While many celebrities voiced their concerns on twitter, and acts such as Kaiser Chiefs helped with the clean up, Liam Gallagher revealed that his Manchester clothing shop had also been involved in the looting, and to little surprise Morrissey waded into the debate by voicing his own opinions about the riots at his show in Brixton this week.
Following on from Rihanna flashing her flesh in Barbados last week, this week it was Nicki Minaj's turn, as she accidently flashed her breast while performing on Good Morning America. Elsewhere Rebecca Black revealed that she is being bullied at school following her YouTube 'hit' 'Friday', ex RHCP guitarist John Fruscainte announced that he is being stalked and Odd Future pulled out of Reading and Leeds Festival.
In other music news, Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block confirmed their merged supergroup status, Kings Of Leon continued the speculation surrounding the band's current state by revealing that Caleb hasn't been kicked out of the band, and Simon Cowell announced the real reason that Cheryl Cole was axed from the US X Factor.
