Britney Spears - Britney Jean: Poor bloody Britney. The mum of two was forced into a recording studio with will.i.am to record her 'most personal album yet' - and the results? 'Work Bitch' and the worst sales of her career. After shifting just 6,400 copies in its first day on sale, Britney Jean charted at No.34. Ouch.
Jessie J - Alive: While not a catastrophic flop, Jessie J's second album hit the pop scene with a bit of a whimper in 2013. Failing to live up to the hype of her debut, singles 'Alive' and 'It's My Party' were moderate hits, while third release 'Thunder' barely scraped the Top 40.
Leanne Mitchell - Leanne Mitchell: THE POOR WOMAN. After being handed the poison chalice of winning the first series of The Voice UK, Leanne Mitchell was lumbered with a dreadful debut single and a year later, an epic flop of an album, in the form of her self-titled, No.134 release. Amazingly, singers still audition for The Voice, hoping to follow in her footsteps.
Kanye West - Yeezus tour: Can we blame Kim Kardashian for this one? Probably not. Kanye's tour was an epic fail, with cancelled shows, postponed dates and damaged stage gear and worst of all, a half empty venue reported at his recent Kansas gig. A shambles from start to finish.
Icona Pop - This Is... Icona Pop: The problem with a hit as big as 'I Love It'? By the time the album comes out, everyone's sick of it... Despite scoring one of the biggest singles of 2013, the Swedish duo failed to turn that success into album sales, charting as dreadful No.86 in the UK. Admittedly, the album wasn't a patch on their original Swedish album...
Empire Of The Sun - Ice On The Dune: Bloody brilliant album, but not that anyone would know, because no one bought it. The Australian collective returned in 2013 with a bigger sound and much bigger hats, but the record buying public decided one dose of epic Aussie synth pop was enough. The album peaked at No.24 in the UK.
Pure Love - Anthems: Being formed by the unmistakeable Gallows frontman Frank Carter and ex-Hope Conspiracy and Suicide File guitarist Jim Carroll the future looked big for the duo, with a ready-made huge fanbase when they formed in 2012. But the album was slated by the critics and seemed to only be enjoyed by some of their dedicated ex-Gallows fans.
The Strokes - Comedown Machine: Having been one the most notable rock bands with their debut release Is This It in 2001, The Strokes hit a low with their most recent release, 'Comedown Machine'. Some fans loved it, others just wished it had never happened, while the rest of the world seem to have completely forgotten that it even exists.
Mel B - For Once In My Life: Like Geri Halliwell, Mel B was attempting to continue a solo career, but not surprisingly she failed. The single was released to coincide with a judging role on America's Got Talent. America judged, and they judged that she had none...
Azealia Banks - ATM Jam: It all looked really hopeful for the New York rapper when she burst onto the scene in 2011 with '212' featuring Lazy J. EP 1991 and mixtape Fantasea showed further potential. But with second single 'ATM Jam'from debut album Broke With Expensive Taste only managing to reach No.169 in the UK singles charts, Banks may be losing her touch.
Mutya Keisha Siobhan - Flatline: What the hell went wrong? Incredible single from one of the most talked-about pop acts of 2013, adored across the internet. When (eventually) released, it scraped to a lowly No.50, after weeks of release date changes. An unacceptably cock up. MKS were not to blame.
Johnny Borrell - Borrell 1: This year, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell decided to go alone and release debut album Borrell 1. Sadly it proved a waste of time as it failed to scrape the Top 100 album charts and only selling 594 copies. It wasn't a great name for an album, either...
Geri Halliwell - 'Half of Me': The single was supposed to be her huge comeback. Instead it crashed to No.281 in the Australian charts, selling an abysmal 393 copies. But of course with a bad single comes a terrible video and the clip was mocked across the globe for utter wretchedness.
