8 astoundingly ugly trainers designed by the world's biggest rappers

Kanye West x Nike - Air Yeezys II Red Octobers: Kanye's third collaboration with the sports brand sold out in minutes after a surprise drop on 11 February 2014, and are now being flogged for up to $10,000 on eBay. If we're being honest, you'd have to pay us that much to NOT wear them - these trainers are ugly as sin.

Lil Wayne x Supra Chimera: The tiny rapper isn't exactly renowned for his sense of style [he dresses like a 13 year old boy on a school trip most of the time] but these trainers, a collab between Wayne and Supra, surpassed all expectations. Seriously, what the hell are these?

Nelly x Nike - Air Derrty: Rapper and former wearer of plasters Nelly has never been shy about his love for Nike [check out his 2002 ode to their sneakers 'Air Force Ones'] so it was inevitable he would collaborate with the brand for his own line of kicks. Unfortunately, they were terrible. We're getting a headache just looking at them.

Drake x Nike - OVO Jordans: Admittedly, these aren't quite as visually insulting as some of the other offenders on this list, but considering a pair of these sneakers went for a jaw-dropping $100,000 on eBay in January and er, they're not actually that nice, we had to include them. Additionally, we also have to question people's sanity.

Soulja Boy x YUMS: The rapper who bought us the likes of 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' and 'Gucci Bandana' expanded his empire further when he collaborated with er, well known sneaker brand YUMs for an unpleasant assault on the senses. These shoes would make some kind of sense if they were designed for children, but they weren't.

Snoop Dogg x Doggy Biscuitz: The only explanation we have for both the uninspired style and abysmal name of these trainers is that Snoop hit the weed a little too hard that day.

Lupe Fiasco x Vans - Stovepipe: This unfortunate marriage of boring leather office shoes and hippy patterned moccasins was a bit of a FIASCO. Ha. Ha. At least you got a free bag, ey?

Fat Joe x Protege: To be fair, the 'Lean Back' rapper's kicks are recession-friendly and only priced at $34.99, but on the other hand, they look like the trainers my grandma buys from the back of the Daily Mail to pad around the house in.

We all know that trainers and hip hop go hand in hand - ever since Run DMC's iconic collaboration with Adidas in 1986, rappers and sports brands have come together to create what they hope will be the next big thing.

However, it's not always quite successful. Kanye's Air Yeezy II's, for example? Well, they're quite ugly if we're all being honest with ourselves. Drake's OVO Jordans? We wouldn't be seen dead in them.

At the risk of sounding like our parents, the star power attached to the product is what ultimately sells - and sell it does. Kanye's Red Octobers were being flogged on eBay this morning for a jaw-dropping $10,000.
