Shaggy: Lets get one thing out of the way before we continue - if you're going to Boomtown you'd better be going to see this legend. A man with more hits than he's had hot dinners, along with underground credibility to boot, he is bound to put on a set that an awesome set full nostalgic tracks. He will be to Boomtown what Dolly Parton was to Glastonbury, only more awesome.
Chimpo: A producer who first came to light during the pre-Skrillex dubstep era, he has gone on to become an extremely versatile DJ. While he has moved away from the genre in recent years, he has retained the original and most important element - the bass. His sets are extremely innovative, taking in multiple genres, tempos and sounds.
UK All Stars: Made up of every important legend from the history of jungle, this UK debut will feature the likes of Congo Natty, General Levy, Sweetie Irie, Nanci and Phoebe, Tenor Fly, Tippa Irie and Daddy Freddy. If you've ever been to a party where any of these chaps are playing it is always off the hook. All of them in one place will frankly be insane.
Dizraeli and Downlow: Also playing with the Small Gods, Dizraeli is an undeniably fresh take on the rap genre that fuses electronic and folk elements. It's the kind of act that is bred perfectly for the green fields of Boomtown Fair and one that you shouldn't miss.
DubFx: Arguably the world's best beat boxer, he creates sounds with a loop peddle that go far beyond the sound of someone simply blowing raspberries on stage. This year saw him perform a one off show at Brixton's Electric and if that show was anything to go by he may have a few special guests and a brilliant set up his sleeve.
Eats Everything: Horrendously bad promo picture aside, this hungry DJ has developed a huge cult following over the years, a result of his profound ability behind the decks. Like many of the acts playing over the weekend, he is as versatile as he is great, so expect the unexpected.
Easy All Stars: Another great act on a list of many, the reggae outfit who are renowned for their cover albums of Radiohead, The Beatles and Michael Jackson, will be performing their seminal Dub Side of the Moon. A brilliant album it transforms Pink Floyd's album into spacey dub from a whole new dimension.
Jam Baxter and Dirty Dike: The rowdy rapscallions currently shaking up the UK hip hop scene will be playing together over the weekend. They are two incredibly large personalities that are all about drinking, debauchery and Scarface levels of drug intake. Oh and they've also put it some incredible records over the past few years...
Iration Steppas: Britain's premiere reggae sound system will be at Boomtown in force, performing one of their legendary dub heavy sets. Expect elements of techno thrown into the mix, along with an education on the roots of the scene.
Kahn & Neek: Also known as Gorgon Sound, these two are putting out some of the best grime productions and mixes heard in a long time. Go and see them if you fancy a seriously hardcore chest plate rattling session.
Lazy Habits: A full on brass band with an MC is some thing that shouldn't work, but with these guys it does brilliantly. Think of it as Oxbridge meets The Streets and you're half way there.
The Heatwave: With their legendary Hot Wuk parties, these guys are all about the vibes, pure and simple. Expect an endless supply of bashment classics and one of the liveliest dance floors you're likely to see in a long time.
