Oasis reunion: There was a brief glimmer of hope in April when Liam Gallagher tweeted letters spelling out Oasis, and the music world took that as confirmation that a reunion was round the corner. It turned out, the only thing round the corner was the pub.
Azealia Banks making peace with Iggy Azalea: Banks has a few charming nicknames for Iggy Azalea that sum up her feelings towards her: Igloo Australia. Itchy Areola. Clueless White Girl. And Azalea's nickname for Banks? "Miserable, angry human being." Catchy.
The Smiths reunion: This is the reunion that has been rumoured for decades and yet, if anything, is getting less likely. Johnny Marr's just released his own album and most of Morrissey's time is taken up making false claims on his fansite.
U2 not making people angry in some way: It's been over 30 years, and still U2 are managing to annoy people. 2014 has been a particularly strong year in the irritation department - be it Bono's sunglasses, the band's 'insensitive' Northern Ireland music video, or their decision to gift every iTunes user with their new album.
An Amy Winehouse hologram tour: There were rumours earlier in the year that, three years on from her death, Amy Winehouse was going to tour the world in hologram form. Her father Mitch dismissed this, thankfully, as "utter rubbish." He also said there will be no albums of unreleased demos or alternative takes, because "We don't want to rip people off." Take note, Michael Jackson's reps.
Pitbull releasing a good song: At this point, it's fairly safe to conclude that Pitbull is just not physically capable of producing good music. He gave it his best, sleaziest shot.
Adele world tour: Even if she breaks her recent vow of silence and releases new music in 2015, she still won't ever do a world tour. It's possible, in fact, that she won't do any kind of tour at all. She won't play festivals because "the thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me" and vocal problems have forced her to cancel most of the tour dates she's had in the past five years.
Beyonce/Jay Z UK On The Run dates: The only reason we can think of as to why their joint On The Run tour didn't reach the UK earlier this year, is that they'e taken a personal dislike to us.
MF Doom's collaboration with Ghostface Killah: Their joint project, DOOMSTARKS, has been in the works since the dawn of time, but in a recent interview, Ghostface said: "I'm still waiting for him to send me more songs... I tell him, 'The people want the album yo'." The people are going to have to wait.
Daft Punk doing a secret Glastonbury set: Daft Punk make Adele's touring routine look positively action-packed. The closest Daft Punk have come to playing a festival in recent years is when Arcade Fire made people put helmets on and pretend to be them.
Blur reunion: When you're calling off recording sessions because "the studio was too hot", your heart just isn't in it.
Prince playing Glastonbury: Prince was supposed to be playing at Glastonbury this year, but became "really upset" when he thought the festival were using his name to to advertise, and pulled out. We doubt his anger will have subsided enough by 2015.
