The avant-garde singer stuns on the cover of their annual music issue

FKA Twigs has posed topless for V Magazine in their annual music issue, alongside Tinashe, Jessie Ware and Sam Smith.
Photographed by Inez and Vinoodh and styled by Karen Clarkson, the singer is part of the magazine's celebration of the 'new sounds of soul'.
Fellow cover star Tinashe also poses topless but disappointingly for anyone hoping for a revealing glimpse of Sam Smith's nipples, he decides to keep his clothes on (albeit with a hefty display of heavage). The new issue of V Magazine hits shelves on 16 January.
In the interview, Twigs hits out at those who simply use the term 'alternative R&B' to describe her music. "If I say ‘alternative red' to you, it's not red, is it? ‘Alternative R&B' is patronizing to R&B. R&B is R&B—it doesn't need an alternative. There are plenty of artists now experimenting with electronic music, manipulating sounds. We can make a train into a synth. We can make drips into hi-hats. I can record sounds on my phone and make a song out of a city. I don't know what that has to do with R&B".
It's Twigs second cover of the month - she also appears in this month's issue of Creative Review, during which she declares: "I don't want to be a pop star, I just love making things."

Twigs recently announced a second headline show at London’s Roundhouse. She will now play the venue on Thursday 19 February and Friday 20 February. Buy tickets safely and securely with Seatwave.
