Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore announce plans to divorce

American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams has revealed that he and actress Mandy Moore are set to divorce. 

The couple’s split was announced yesterday when Billboard reported the following statement: “Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years. It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways. Both Ryan and Mandy ask that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

The pair married in private in 2009 with the ceremony taking place in Savannah and the couple recorded Moore’s seventh studio album together in 2012. Adams said last year that his marriage is not something that he would like to discuss in public, saying to Buzzfeed: “I’m a private person and I’ll be a gentleman and say I’m not talking about my marriage ever.”
