Interpol, The War On Drugs, Royal Blood for BBC 6 Music Festival
This year's event will take place in Tyneside in February

After an incredible inaugural year in 2014 in Manchester's Victoria Warehouse, this year's returning event will take place across various venues on both sides of the river in Newcastle and Tyneside from 20 - 22 February.
Other acts confirmed to play include Mogwai, The Maccabees, Gaz Coombes, The Charlatans, British Sea Power, Django Django, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Wire, Ghost Poet, The Cribs,The Fall, Jungle, Mercury winners Young Fathers, Jon Hopkins, Hot Chip, Public Service Broadcasting, King Creosote, Simian Mobile Disco and Neneh Cherry. Many more names will be announced throughout the day and evening today.
Paul Rodgers, Head of Programmes for 6 Music said: "Building on the success of last year’s inaugural 6 Music Festival in Salford, we are proud to announce its return in 2015 on Tyneside. The festival brings together the most exciting alternative music of the moment, as well as championing emerging and established artists which represent the range of diverse music played on the station every day."

A spokesman continued: "The 6 Music Festival is in two parts - the 6 Music Festival by Night at The 02 Academy Newcastle at The Sage, and the 6 Music Festival by Day. The 6 Music Festival by Day is a separately ticketed free event from 11am to 6pm on Saturday 21 February in The Ouseburn area of Newcastle – at the Cluny 1, Cluny 2, The Cumberland Arms, and The Star and Shadow. And on Sunday 22 February at The Boiler Shop in the Stephenson Quarter area of Newcastle."
The full line up of the 6 Music Festival by Day will be announced on Tuesday 3 February from 10am starting in Lauren Laverne’s show and continuing on shows throughout the day. Tickets for the 6 Music Festival by Day are free and will be allocated via an audience ballot from 10am on Tuesday 3 February.
