Florence and the Machine: A festival favourite over the last few years, 2015 will finally see Florence and the Machine return to the spotlight with a new record. She's already announced a whole bunch of festival dates for pretty much everywhere else except the UK. It would make sense for Florence to make the step up to main stage headliner this year. She's already topped the bill at the likes of Latitude and Bestival - is it time for her to enter the major leagues?
Red Hot Chili Peppers: It's been a while since Red Hot Chili Peppers appeared at Reading & Leeds. With 36 songs reportedly written for their as-yet unannounced new album, a headline slot this summer could definitely be beckoning.
The Libertines: After a triumphant return last summer, it would make sense for The Libertines to once again return to one of their spiritual homes, Reading & Leeds. With a 'positive' new record due and Pete on the mend in Thai rehab, they've already confirmed shows in Scotland and Ireland - it would be rude not to head to England. Are they the likely lads for R&L?
The Strokes: It's been four years since The Strokes have played the festival, and it was recently revealed that they would be headlining Primavera Sound in May. Considering Strokes live dates on British shores have become quite a rarity nowadays, it's a possibility that they could return for a dynamic headline slot full of greatest hits.
Radiohead: They're currently in the studio recording a new album, they've stormed the festival in the past, why the hell shouldn't Radiohead headline this year? Reading & Leeds might just be the perfect place to host the live return of the iconic group.
Kasabian: 2014 was no doubt been the biggest in Kasabian's career to date, finally headlining Glastonbury, playing a triumphant show at Victoria Park in Leicester and ascending to become one of the biggest bands in Britain. They would no doubt go down a storm at Reading & Leeds - and probably still wouldn't win a Brit Award.
Kings of Leon: In a recent tweet, drummer Nathan Followill said Kings of Leon would be returning with new material 'soon'. The group may have a rocky history with the festival after they walked off stage and moaned at the crowd at Reading 2009, but six years later could KOL return and right those wrongs? We hope so.
Foals: They may be on a media blackout right now, but Foals might just come back fighting this year with a new album to follow up the massive Holy Fire. They topped the bill at Bestival back in September, so a headline slot at Reading & Leeds would be effortless for the Oxford boys, and we're sure the crowd would go wild for their genre-defining brand of indie.
The Black Keys: Given Patrick Carney's shoulder injury, they've had to cancel UK dates - but presumably he should be recoved by August? They definitely have the material to back it up, and Turn Blue would sound brilliant on British shores in 2015.
Rihanna: We understand this could be a massive curveball, but with an announcement of her eighth album due any day soon and her live shows to date being a phenomenal work of art, we think Rih Rih would be a more than worthy headliner. We've seen her headline festival stages across the world already, and with a barrage of hits to her name, why the hell shouldn't she do it?
Jay Z: Another argument for the hip-hop headliner, it seems somewhat odd that Jay Z hasn't headlined R&L in the past. After recently finishing the On The Run tour with Beyonce we're in the dark about whether HOVA will release new material soon, however we sure as hell know he can headline a major festival. We think he could be the perfect addition to the lineup.
Kanye West: With Metallica already filling the typical rock slot, we think next year could see Reading and Leeds get another hip-hop headliner. Eminem went down a treat in 2013, and we know Kanye can headline festivals effortlessly (if the crowd can put up with a bit of ranting). Plus Yeezy should have a new record out by then...
