Noel Gallagher backs Kasabian, declares Brit Awards are 'rigged'
Supports Serge from Kasabian
Brit Award winner Noel Gallagher has complained that the ceremony is 'rigged', and has backed Serge Pizzorno's complaint about Kasabian's lack of recognition.
"I'm an independent artist and we get shafted by people at the Brits," he told BBC News. "You won't see an independent artist [among the nominees], unless they sell 50 million records and it becomes an impossibility to leave them out."
Once again, Gallagher has alluded to a conspiracy among the music industry describing it as a "a bit of a carve-up between the majors". He also backed Pizzorno's recent complaint that his band haven't been recognised for headling Glastonbury and selling out Brixton Academy five nights in a row. "If Kasabian don't fulfil the criteria for one of the best groups, what is that saying?"
Much in the same manner as his recent complaint about Ed Sheeran ended with him being gifted two tickets to the Wembley stadium show, Gallagher also made it clear he would still like to attendd the ceremony. He certainly has enjoyed it in the past - he recently told the Evening Standard. “I remember the Brits in 1994 - we were all shit-faced on drugs."
Meanwhile, Noel launched his new album with an intimate show at London's Tuffnell Park Dome on Monday night Read our report here.
