Gang Colours, aka Will Ozanne, has released his debut EP 'The Keychain Collection' and it offers something unique and daydreamy.

Will admits: "whenever I used to get an album, I'd always be drawn to the slower song" and his adoration for long, drawn-out melodies and epic, slow denouements is clear on this superb collection of tracks.

Plugging yourself in to the 30-minute set is like entering a hazy and blissful world. The stunning 'To Repel Ghosts' spreads tinges of bells across a barren sonic soundscape, interspersed with sparse synths and piano chords. Listen to this and the world will seem to melt away before your eyes.

The chill-step infused 'I Don't Want You Calling' samples Mozart-esque key changes and inception-inducing intermissions, leaving the listener both enthralled and hypnotised. The album is not all a single-minded introspection-fest though. The upbeat, stammered samples on Pebble Dash seem to leave you floating between ecstasy and cerebral exertion - a potent and thrilling combination.

"Tissue & Fivers" is one of the stand-out tracks on the album. Will notes that "Tissues and fivers are two of the interesting items that my Nan's black labrador used to eat" and this hark back to his childhood, full of whirring rings and limping percussion eloquently captures the ambitious and arduous journey that Gang Colours starts with this EP.

Will does not lend many vocals to the album - indeed why do so when the music itself paints a breathtaking story, but when he does sing, he is often thoughtful and leaves enough of a lingering quiver to leave you yearning more. In the effervescent 'Fancy Restaurant', he croons 'I know you don't care that much about money, but i'm gonna make some to take you out', while rumbling bass and piquant electric piano punctuate both a longing and rye acceptance in the production.

While the album does not sit well in any one category of music - inspired by r'n'b, classical, ambient, jazz, chill-step and electronica among others, it organically manages to  find a unique voice of it's own, and a clear identity for the exciting new British producer.
