Simian Mobile Disco - 'Clock EP'

The 'Clock EP' is a four track long instrumental ravine with blips, beats and analogue. It feels like the vinyl’s got stuck at some points, and whether this makes for complete immersion in the beats or a directionless reverie is another thing – not that either are necessarily derisible. In fact, far from it: the minimalism is captivating, developed, and seems to have found the right balance between pretension and childhood Casio. Not quite mind blowing stuff from Simian Mobile Disco, but maybe all it needs is a catalyst?
