Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor has been credited as "music consultant" in the new Batman: Arkham Knight teaser trailer.

Not only do his band Nine Inch Nails feature on the trailer with their song 'The Wretched' being used as its soundtrack, Trent also appears to have played apart in creating the trailer as he is listed as a 'music consultant'. Yet this isn't the first time Reznor has been credited for his involvement in video games. He has also contributed to Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Darkness II.

Trent received a shout-out from the games Twitter account and there has been some speculation by fans that he helped secure directors Tim Cronenweth and Jeff Cronenweth, who he had previously worked with on Girl With A Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl.

Reznor has previously said that the Gone Girl score is like a "curdled" version of relaxation music. He explained to the Wall Street Journal: "[Fincher] said, 'Think about the really terrible music you hear in massage parlours. The way that it artificially tries to make you feel like everything’s OK. And then imagine that sound starting to curdle and unravel'".

Fincher has also directed a music video for Nine Inch Nails track ‘Only’, which came out in 2005.  Batman: Arkham Knight is available on XBOX and PS4 consoles beginning 23 June.
