Michael Jackson's former home Neverland Ranch in California has been put up for sale.

The estate, which was transformed into Jackson's dream property complete with outside lakes, a train station. movie theatre and six bedroom, has finally been put on the market after the singer's death in 2009. Spanning 2,700 acres, it's being listed at $100 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Jackson bought the property back in 1988 for a sum of only $9.8 million, and added an amusement park and zoo in an attempt to recreate the world of Peter Pan, naming his house Neverland Ranch. The amusement park and zoo are no longer there, and since his death the property has been maintained by Colony Capital.

Previously, there have been ideas about turning the ranch into a homage to Jackson and his incredible career, in a similar fashion to Graceland, Elvis Presley's home in Memphis, Tennessee.

Jackson did not live at the ranch for the last few years of his life in an effort to distance himself from the charges of molestation that were meant to occurred at the property, even after he was acquitted.

The spokeswoman from Colony Capital, Caroline Luz declined to comment on the sale.
