Dave Grohl has explained why the band protested against the Westboro Baptist Church before a gig in Kansas last week.
Footage of Grohl addressing the crowd has emerged, in which he outlines the band's reasons for riding out in the back of a pick-up truck and 'rickrolling' the protesters. Armed with placards that read 'Keep it clean' and 'You got Rickroll'd (again)', they also blasted 'Never Gonna Give You Up' from a loud speaker.
Speaking to the crowd, Grohl said: "So I'm going to dedicate this song to all the people who go out and speak their mind, to stand up for what they think is right, because every time we got to stand up in this city in front of them, we do it because we feel like we're standing up for what we think is right."

Meanwhile, Dave Grohl has spoken about how his custom-built throne, assembled due to his broken leg, has become "the star of the show". In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, he said: "It's become the star of the show. It has a drink holder," he said, adding, "Do I stop using it when I can just stand there? Or do I stop using it when I can jump and run around like I used to or do I keep it for fucking ever?"
