After he worked with the singer on her forthcoming third album, Damon Albarn has suggested that Adele's new music is "very middle of the road."
The Blur frontman worked with Adele on the hugely anticipated follow-up to 2011's 21, which went 16x Platinum in the UK and 11x Platinum in the US - but seems to now be making efforts to dampen some of the hype.
Speaking to The Sun, Albarn said, "Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her. And I’m not a producer, so … I don’t know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don’t think so. Let’s wait and see. The thing is, she’s very insecure. And she doesn’t need to be, she’s still so young."
He added, "I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse. It’s very middle of the road."

Danger Mouse is just one of the reported collaborators on the album, which is set to be released in November. Max Martin, OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder and Tobias Jesso Jr are also slated to feature.
