Viola Beach look set to climb this week's Official Singles Chart after all four members of the band and their manager died in a tragic car accident last weekend.
A campaign was launched earlier this week to get Viola Beach to No.1 with all proceeds of the single going to the men's families.
As we reported, Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin, along with their manager Craig Tarry, lost their lives when their vehicle left a bridge and crashed 82ft into a canal below in Stockholm on Saturday (13 February).
The momentum to get their single to where it deserves to be is really picking up. The Official Charts Company has confirmed that 'Swings & Waterslides, which entered the chart at No.39 on Monday (15 February) has climbed 30 places on today's Official Chart Update (17 February).
Stone Roses, Liam Gallagher, and Kasabian are among those backing the bid to get it to top the charts, whilst family, friends, publicists, and the label are all pushing to give them the ultimate gesture of good will and get a seriously good track the exposure it's always deserved and was on its way to getting.
RIP @Viola_Beach - let’s get them to No.1 - https://t.co/xjwgqzuvRW One Love x
