Kasabian have added Benicàssim festival, held 13-16 July in Spain, to their summer festival jaunt.

The 'Ee-zeh' stars join Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Weeknd - who are playing a host of European festivals this summer - at the top of the bill. Liam Gallagher and Foals come closely behind. Gallagher will be playing material from his John Lennon inspired new solo album - and probably a bunch of Oasis bangers.

Another notable addition are seminal shoegazers Ride who aare preparing the relaese of their first record in 20 years. Bonobo (live) is not to be missed as his latest album, Migration, is a stunning maintenance of form; and whilst he regularly plays DJ sets, the live show is next level.

Moreover, Tyler, The Creator is unmissable and his appearance will add to speculation that his fifth LP will come out this year. Rumoured collaborators according to a fan forum include Jasper, and Taco, Mike G, Pharrell Williams, and Pusha T.

Kasabian made another announcement earlier today stating that they'd be playing Sziget in Budapest alongside the likes of Interpol, DJ Shadow, Mac DeMarco, Major Lazer, Bad Religion, The Kills.

News of Kasabian 's increasing presence on the festival circuit comes as they prepare the release of their new album. In an interview with NME Serge Pizzorno said it's a journey back "to their guitar roots" and that it's "nothing like 48:13." He also said: "I wrote one of the best tunes I’ve ever written.”

He continued: “[It’s called] ‘Bless This Acid House’. It’s a beauty. It’s a mad time, with what’s been happening – it felt like the world was caving in around me. But I felt that everyone had said enough, like everyone had had their say, so this tune is just pure positive energy. I went round my mate’s house and he’s got this [Jeremy Deller-designed] poster and I thought, ‘I love that’, so I wrote a tune about it, but now I’m finished.”
