In his memory this Thursday...

April 20, 2010 by Scott Colothan

The family of the late Malcolm McLaren want mourners to honour the punk pioneer by observing “a minute of mayhem.”

McLaren's son with Vivienne Westwood, Joseph Corre, is urging people to notch the volume on their stereos up at 12pm on Thursday (April 22) and blast out some raucous music "in celebration of Malcolm's life".

"Put on your favourite records and let it RIP!" Corre added on his human rights charity website Humanade.

McLaren's funeral will be taking place at the same time at Highgate Cemetery following a cortège through some of McClaren's favourite spots in North London.

The route will go through Camden High Street and Chalk Farm Road as the procession makes its way to North London.

His family have asked for privacy at the ceremony and have urged fans to make donations to Humanade instead of leaving flowers.

Malcolm McLaren died in Switzerland on April 8th following a battle with cancer. He was 64.
