Dizzee Rascal has said he is confident that England can win the World Cup, which gets underway next month.

The rapper said he had big plans for the tournament when he flies out to watch England’s opener against the USA.

"I've got something big in the pipeline,” Rascal told The Sun. “I'm going down there to spread some love.

“I think we can win the World Cup and I'm doing my bit.”

Rascal, who has never been to a football game before, singled out Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard as key plays for the team.

"Wayne Rooney is the No1. I love the way he powers up, he's so strong,” he said.

"I like Aaron Lennon and, of course, Steven Gerrard all day long. And what Glen Johnson did, scoring that screamer against Mexico the other night, seriously impressed me."

As previously reported on Gigwise, Rascal will perform at the Cool Britannia festival in South Africa during the tournament.
