Lily Allen has defended Dappy’s controversial new single, ‘I’m Coming (Tarzan part 2)’, which was released yesterday (3 July).
The track mocks Simon Cowell, Joe McElderry, Tinie Tempah and Alexandra Burke amongst mothers, and Dappy’s cousin and former bandmate Tulisa criticised the song, saying that he had "lost his mind."
But Lily showered the track with praise on her Twitter, writing: “Dappy's new tune is jokes, in a good way. Thoroughly entertaining and insightful which is more than I can say for most things on the radio.
“And also, since when is pop music meant to be politically correct? Why people are so shocked by it is beyond me.”
Dappy’s solo album ‘Bad Intentions’ will be released on 1 October.
