Evanescence have become embroiled in an ugly case of child pornography and allegations of a cover up after online group Anonymous alleged that the band forced a user of the band forum EvThreads to sign a contract restricting them from reporting a crime revealed online.

The claims leveled at Evanescence centre around one user of the forum, Sam Smith, who is alleged to have been forced into a signing a contract which stopped him from reporting various crimes which had come to light on EvThreads.

These crimes included acts of child pornography and drugs offences.

Now online protest group Anonymous are looking to bring light to the case, which was recently brought up in Parliament. They plan to protest Evanescence's upcoming UK tour and have placed singer Amy Lee on their list of people involved in 'nefarious online activity'

Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming brought the allegations to light in parliament, stating that Smith was restricted from reporting "sexual offences against a physically disabled male minor and cartoons with pre-teens in lawful poses but with sexualised captions, including sexual activity with animals and one caption regarding a toddler consuming human faeces."

Evanescence are yet to comment on the case. The band tour the UK in November including a show at London's Wembley Arena. For ticket information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
