Rock 'n' roll legend Chubby Checker is suing two computer companies using his name as the title for a penis size guessing app.
The Chubby Checker is an app for Hewlett-Packard's Palm OS platform, and is aiming to help women guess the size of their date's penis. Because that's obviously what every woman is wondering on a date.
The description reads, "Any of you ladies out there just start seeing someone new and wondering what the size of there [sic] member is? ... All you need to do is find out the man's shoe size and plug it in and ... there is no need for disappointment or surprise."
Chubby Checker trademarked his stage name in 1997, and is now suing the app - despite the fact that it was removed a while ago and only had 84 downloads.
Checker - the singer - claims that it will cause 'irreparable damage and harm' to his name, and will leave people associating his name with 'the obscene sexual connotation and images' of the app.
Willie Gary, Checker's lawyer, says, "This lawsuit is about preserving the integrity and legacy of a man who has spent years working hard at his musical craft and has earned the position of one of the greatest musical entertainers of all time."
Chubby Checker - definitely nothing to do with measuring penises, honest
Checker is demanding 'all profits' amassed by the defendants in association with the app, which according to his lawyers' press release somehow amounts to $500m (£320m).
The singer is best known for creating 'The Twist', and had a number one hit with the song in 1960.
