Sir Elton John has praised Queens of the Stone Age for making 'the best rock album for five years' and spoken of his excitement on collaborating with Josh Homme an co on Like Clockwork.
In an interview with The Daily Star, Sir Elton spoke of his joy in contributing piano and vocals to album track 'Fairweather Friends'.
"I've never really played on a record with a rock band like that and for me it was one of the most exciting things I've ever done," he said. "I think it's probably the best rock album by any band in about five or six years."
Reviewing 'Fairweather Friends' in our full track by track guide to Like Clockwork, we said: "Forget everything you thought you knew about Elton John. He certainly knows how to rock out with the best of them. Adding some pretty stately backing vocals and dizzying piano-work to this cunning little beast, Sir Elton spits in the face of his balladeering reputation to do some pretty twisted things with a set of ivories. Lad."
