Lady Gaga has dramatically split from her manager, quoting 'creative differences' at the business end of what has been a rocky publicity drive for new album ARTPOP.
Troy Carter has been reportedly frozen out of the creative direction Gaga is attempting with the new record. From a business point of view, he may well have questioned the wisdom of new song 'Dope' and 'Mary Jane Holland' giving such explicit nods to drug use.

Carter was there from the start for Gaga. He was the man behind her initial deal with Interscope, which catapulted her to international stardom. He represents other artists such as John Legend through company Atom Factory and is seen in the industry as one of the primary reasons for Gaga's huge commercial success.
Where this leaves Gaga is unclear. She wept openly at The Youtube Awards this week, in a performance of 'Dope' that suggested that all may not be well with The Mother Monster. With ARTPOP receiving some very negative reviews already, it seems like this could be make or break time for the singer. We'd think this would be exactly when you'd need an industry savvy veteran by your side.
