The late Velvet Underground turned solo legend Lou Reed has left his estate to his wife and sister, it has been revealed.
Billboard reports that Reed's will was filed in New York on Monday - leaving his Manhattan penthouse, his home in East Hampton, and the bulk of his estate to his wife, musician Laurie Anderson.
Meanwhile, Reed's sister inherits about a quarter of his estate and a $500,000 bequest aimed at caring for their mother. His business manager and accountant have been assigned to handle licensing and copyrights for his music.

Reed passed away on Sunday 27 October, from liver complications, aged 71. He died without children. Subsequently, his wife Laurie Anderson has penned an obituary for The Long Island Town paper The East Hampton Star, where she wrote: "Lou was a prince and a fighter and I know his songs of the pain and beauty in the world will fill many people with the incredible joy he felt for life."
Reed has since received a slew of tribute since his passing, from the likes of David Bowie, Rufus Wainwright, Patti Smith, David Byrne, John Cale, Nick Cave, Arctic Monkeys and many more.
