The xx have released a statement hitting out at a Croation company promoting homophobia who used one of their tracks without permission in an advert.
The company, called U ime obitelji (which translates to "on behalf of the family") is a citizens' initiative calling for a referendum to make marriage a union between man and woman, claiming "same-sex parents can not meet the needs of children in a family that in their opinion, consisting of father and mother."
Of course, The xx aren't best impressed with the unlawful usage of their track 'Intro' on the advert promoting anti-homosexuality, posting the following statement on their Facebook page: "We wish to state that we didn't, and would never, approve the use of our music by this organisation. To be clear, we unconditionally support the equal right to marriage regardless of sexuality."

The London three piece are now reportedly taking action to sue the company, even sending a letter to Croatian parliment asking for advice. "Management are looking to pursue this. Obviously the band are completely at odds with what the movement stands for and want to take appropriate action," it read, as reported by Muzika.hr.
