Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner has opened up about the bands' future direction, stating that he 'won't rule out' the band using synthesizers.
The band have trodden a very staunch rock path since their debut, wandering from the quickfire garage indie of their first two records towards more psychedelic stoner-rock sounds on Humbug and Suck It And See, while AM sees them sit comfortably in a harder rock n' roll sound.
In a new interview with American paper the St Catherine Standard, Turner was asked how the band avoided 'the synth fever' of years past, that saw the rise of synth-pop bands such as The Killers, The Bravery, La Roux, Hurts, Little Boots and more.
"Oh, synth-epidemic," he replied. "I didn't know it was going on actually. We just keep taking the tablets, I suppose, drink plenty of water... It seems like when a guitar band get the synths, it's like it's not enough. That's not something that was ever on our agenda."
He continued: "But I'm not going to rule it out, I've got nothing against."
