Muse are back in the studio, seemingly putting the finishing touches on their long-awaited new album - and have shared yet more teaser clips of new music. Check them out below.
The band have been in Canada and Milan recording their seventh album with legendary AC/DC producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, and have been teasing fans online with images of the process and short video clips of guitar and string sections.
Now, Muse have shared two more clips - one of Matt Bellamy playing some ambient slide guitar, and another of a 'voice over' of an army drill sergeant being sampled for a track. Looks like we may be in for a concept album once again...
It also shows a control screen with some titles on it, leading many to believe that the LP may by tentatively titled Drones.
Oh, and drummer Dom Howard has also been to see Sir Tom Jones...
In a series of tweets last summer, frontman Bellamy described the new album's central themes as "deep ecology, the empathy gap and World War 3." There may be high levels of irony in this part. He also revealed that his disdain for guitar solos has mellowed on the new album, and mentioned a "sequel" to Origin Of Symmetry track 'Citizen Erased'. The band have previously spoken about how the record will be 'rockier', 'more raw' and much more back to basics than the synth and classical-inspired sounds on their more recent albums.
Muse are currently confirmed to headline many festivals across Europe in 2015 - including Download Festival. For tickets and information, visit here.
