Exactly today, 48 years ago, was the day that musician Jimi Hendrix signed his contract with his record label - for just $1. To commemorate we've compiled a list of some of the biggest names in music, going.
Take a musical trip through the years and see which huge bands started with earning pennies in their contracts, to later gain worldwide recognition, domination in the charts, and not a household in sight who didn't know they were.
