The first trailer for Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck has just been released, and it proves that this is the ultimate documentary for any Nirvana fan.
As if Nirvana fans weren’t already eagerly anticipating the release of Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck after hearing that the film would be featuring some of his previously unheard music, this brand new trailer will certainly do the trick.
The documentary, which is executive produced by Cobain's daughter Frances Bean, along with Acadamy Award nominated director Brett Morgen, features never-before-seen home videos of a young Kurt, as well as recordings, his artwork, photographs, journals, demos, personal archives, songbooks and interviews with his closest friends and family members.
Back in January, the first official image from the film was released, which you can view below. Along with the image, a press release read: “As previously announced, this first ever, fully-authorized doc feature blends Cobain's personal archive of art, music, written word, and never-before-seen home movies, with animation and revelatory interviews from his family and closest confidantes."
Previously speaking of the film, Morgen revealed that he began working on this project eight years ago, but that once he started examining Cobain’s archive, he discovered over 200 hours of unreleased music and audio, as well as art projects (oil paintings and sculptures), hours of home videos, and over 4,000 pages of writings. Together, all of those findings helped “paint an intimate portrait of an artist who rarely revealed himself to the media," he shared.
Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck is scheduled to air on May 4 on HBO.
