Listen: The 2 Bears remix Santigold

If the aim of a remix is to better the original, then The 2 Bears can consider their remix of Santigold's new single 'Disaparate Youth' a complete success.

Santi's original is good, great even, but there's something really special about the dance duo's subtle, dub-influenced take on the New Yorker's comeback track.

Taking the New York chic of Santigold's track and mixing it with the grimy cool of East London hangouts, The 2 Bears remix would be unpleasantly hip if it is wasn't so damn enjoyable. Innocent sounding cowbells mix with a distinctly wobbly bassline while Santigold's memorable vocal is left intact. The result is supercool - and at the same time highly listenable.

'Disaparate Youth' is the first single from Santigold's second album, 'Master Of My Make Believe'. The single is due for release on 8 April, 2012 - with the album set to follow on 23 April, 2012.
