British/Spanish band Crystal Fighters do more than span continents with their line-up, they also span genres with their blend of electronica and guitar based tracks.
Perhaps best known for their 2011 sunshine anthem, 'Plage', which was perhaps second only to Foster The People's 'Pumped Up Kicks' when it came to summer radio-play last year, the band have this week premiered new track, 'Earth Island'.
Following the band's debut album 'Star Of Love', the trio appear to be pursuing a more electronic sound as they inevitably consider a second album, and 'Earth Island' is the first example of what their future sound may hold. Taken from the US release of 'Star Of Love', Swirling beats, layered vocals and perhap even an element of dubstep contribute to this bizarre but brilliant new track, which is more complicated than 'Plage' but invokes a similar sense of hazy summer days, afternoons in the park and cider in the sun.
