It can take many bands years, or perhaps an entire career, to truly find their feet. Some limp into the limelight and others gradually bloom into the promise they've often hinted at. Garbage were no such band. They arrived in this world as a fully-formed vision of genre-defying, fearless energy, passion and spirit.
This week sees the band celebrate being '20 Years Queer', re-releasing their seminal debut album to mark two decades of the record that blew the doors off the industry, beckoning in a band like no other.
To celebrate, we sat down with Garbage icon Shirley Manson to let the band takeover Gigwise. See below for exclusive, full, frank and often brutally honest interviews on the album, the 90s, fans, Tracey Emin and much more - as well as a track-by-track guide to the record, a playlist of her favourite music and an exclusive insight into progress on new material.
