"The world is our oyster, we're going to enjoy it as much as we can," beams The Libertines' drummer Gary Powell, smiling as he looks towards bandmates Carl Barat and John Hassall after picking another in a long line of awards.

Once a shambles, now glorious, the Albion boys' comeback trail is littered with victories. Starting with acclaimed reunion shows before a huge suprise gig at Glastonbury and a historic headline set at Reading. Oh, and not forgetting their brilliant new album, Anthems For Doomed Youth.
As a result, the band now find themselves finally enjoying the champagne years they always deserved - capping off with some massive arena shows in the New Year. Isn't that a long, long way from the insane garage shows where they found fame?
"We're going to make the most of that space," Carl Barat tells Gigwise. "We're going to take it a bit more freely. We love playing intimate little gigs but we've never really done these kind of gigs. We're going to give it a go. You can hear every instrument, so we might up our game a little bit - we don't know!"

Of course, it all started with a song. The moment when we knew that this band were worth far more a heady dose of nostalgia, but had their sights set on the future. That moment was 'Gunga Din' - the launch of Anthems For Doomed Youth and the revitalising song that they're rewarded for today at the Q Awards.
"I'd like to think that it was the idea of triumphing through love," admits Barat, thinking of 'Gunga Din'. "I doubt it - it was probably just the groove or something."
Hassall adds: "It was a snapshot of where the band was, and kind of is at the moment."
With love, they continue to triumph. For those who thought their glory days were long gone, the only moment they need is now.
