Gallagher-tested, Gallagher-approved, This Feeling have been a mainstay in promoting the latest indie bands from around the UK for years. They've tipped, among many others, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Blossoms, helping them reach as many people as possible with their career-firing tours.

In February, they lended us their expertise in the newest of the new in indie, publishing their annual 'Big In' list with us. Now, here, you'll find one of those bands spotlighted every week. Get to know them a bit better and have a listen to their latest tune. This week, it's Garden Party!

Describe yourselves in 5 words...

Josh - Melodic, energetic, loud, anthemic, lively

Who are your favourite This Feeling bands chosen for Big In this year?

Liam - The Katuns, Stone, Flechettes are all top bands! We’re looking forward to playing in the Toon with  The Katuns

Favourite album from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and recent?

60s - The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico. I only got into these late but once I got into them i was obsessed.

70s - Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run. Bruce Springsteen was played a lot when I was younger, whether it was in the car or around the house so i've grown up listening to him.

80s - The Smiths - Meat is Murder. One of the first albums I bought on vinyl. I remember listening to it many times growing up.

90s - The Verve - Urban Hymns. Richard Ashcroft's my favourite songwriter and Nick McCabe is my favourite guitarist so them being together on an album is perfect.

00s - The Streets - Original Pirate Material. Another album which was made all at home which inspires us as a band to try and produce our own material and see what we can come up with before the studio sessions.

Recent - DMA’s - Hills End. The band recorded this album themselves just like we did with our debut single in lockdown so its a big inspiration for us as a band.

What inspired you to start a band?

Sam - We all love music. Playing, listening, going to gigs. Everything. We thought we'd give live performing a go. Me, Josh and Liam have all been in a band before so it just sort of fit together perfectly.

What's your favourite part of performing live?

Josh - Performing live is like no other feeling, its hard to explain the buzz you get when you're on stage with your best mates...the buzz of each other and the reaction of the crowd. It's special.

Tell us about your latest release.

Sam - The latest release, 'Better (Than You)' is just as we described ourselves; anthemic and loud. It brings a chaotic wall of sound towards you right from the start with the huge drums and melodic lead guitar. The verse is fast-paced and energetic, and the chorus brings the energy along with a thumping bass that drives the chorus throughout the song. Keep your eyes peeled though, because there could be something new sooner than you think.

What do you have coming up?

Liam - Coming up we have our tour which is now two thirds sold out. The same weekend we have our first major festival appearance at the Isle of Wight and after that we’re looking to get back into the nitty gritty of the studio and get some new tracks down
