    Coachella Festival

Coachella festival was a huge sigh of relief for the music world when it was first staged in 1999. It was held just 2 months after Woodstock ’99 that ended in riots.

Set just outside Palm Springs, Indio’s Empire Polo Fields made an amazing place to soak up some sun and serious music. A 50 000 strong crowd partied in a sweltering 115-degrees, experiencing a wicked mix of 80 acts including Underworld, Moby and Rage Against The Machine. Jane’s Addiction was one of the headlining acts alongside Beck and Tool.

After a hiatus, Coachella festival returned for a one day blow out in 2001. The day was crammed with a shed load of bands that would satisfy even the most weather beaten festival nut. 2003 saw The Beastie Boys as the first night headliner alongside artists such as Deep Dish and N*E*R*D. Radiohead stunned the crowds by headlining the 2004 festival with the help from The Flaming Lips and Air, to mention but two.

This festival has absolutely EVERYTHING: Californian sun, minimal scrapping (fingers crossed), arts, culture and a dizzyingly eclectic mass of music.
