Wireless Festival (UK)

July 2011 Hyde Park, London

Wireless Festival (UK)

Details: When the Wireless Festival launched in 2005 it was originally just a four day festival which took place in Hyde Park London. However, after a successful opening year which saw performances from New Order and Kasabian, the goal for the Wireless festival became a lot bigger.

In 2006 it became a dual festival based in London’s Hyde Park and Leeds’ Harwood House – with both cities sharing the majority of the events line-up on alternate days. Although the festival runs over a four day period (three in Leeds), the Wireless Festival is not a camping festival.

The festival does, however, offer the latest and most prominent bands (2006 saw The Strokes headline) across four stages. There is also an acoustic band stand where people can relax to the coolest acoustic vibes around. The festival site is also decorated with shops, a fairground and food and beverage areas to cater for everyone’s needs. There’s even a five-a-side football pitch on site.
