Big news - Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is set to direct a six-episode biopic focusing on The Sex Pistols. The series - titled Pistol - is based on guitarist Steve Jones' memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol.

Production begins in March, so no news on when the series will air - but when it does it'll be a huge television event. The cast has also been announced, with punk icon and SEX assistant Jordan being played by Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams and Enola Holmes actor Louis Partridge as Sid Vicious. Jacob Slater - the artist behind Wunderhorse and previously frontman of London band Dead Pretties - will represent Pistols drummer Paul Cook.

The Sex Pistols in Danny Boyle's own words:

"Imagine breaking into the world of The Crown & Downtown Abbey with your mates and screaming your songs and your fury at all they represent.......
This is the moment that British society and culture changed for ever."
