More about:

Remember last year when, during a secret, last-minute gig in Brighton, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl pulled the lead singer of their UK tribute band onstage and performed 'White Limo' with him? Well that very band may be able to help you out now.

If, like thousands of others, you were desperately disappointed when the Foos cancelled their forthcoming Wembley shows (not to mention their Glastonbury headline slot, though to be fair, we have mentioned that several times today), the UK Foo Fighters might be able to fill that void.

If they receive enough support, the band will perform at the Crystal Clubs, located right next door to Wembley Stadium, on 19 and 20 June - the dates the real band were due to perform.

The band's tweet has received an overwhelmingly positive response, with one fan tweeting, "I lose Wembley hotel if I cancel so count me in", and another, "YES!!! We are coming from Hamburg and Dusseldorf and there is nothing to do in London ;)".

Speaking to Gigwise of his experience onstage with Foo Fighters, Jay Apperley said, "I didn't know how he'd feel about tribute bands, I thought he might say to me, 'Just get your fucking mates together and write some shit and it's yours.' He's a big fan of that. He's the biggest thing in rock music on the planet, but everybody said to me, 'He's not just the nicest guy in rock, he's just a seriously nice guy, he won't have an issue with it.' Clearly he doesn't, because he wouldn't have let me take his place on a song on the first ever secret gig in the UK after nearly three years of silence otherwise.

Foo Fighters cancelled UK dates are below.

19 June – London, UK – Wembley Stadium
20 June – London, UK – Wembley Stadium
23 June – Edinburgh, UK – BT Murrayfield Stadium
26 June - Glastonbury Festival
