The reality of the situation is that if you’re outside any time this summer, you’re going to be hearing a lot of this band.

Tracks like ‘Desire’ and ‘King’ have been all over the radio since 2014 and winning the BBC Sound of 2015 has rocketed their career. Their sound is a mish-mash between 90s R’n’B beats, uplifting synth-pop and even a little bit of jazz in the phrasing. Alexander has this distinct but familiar vocal and the record stays highly energised throughout.

It’s very much an album of 2015 so it’ll be interesting to see what the band will do next with their momentum.
