Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan took part in a fan Q&A in Colorado last week, during which a fan asked him if he thought Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain. He didn't react positively.
Though Corgan and the Hole frontwoman had an on-again off-again romance, their relationship has been incredibly strained in recent years. Back in 2010, Corgan told Rolling Stone, "I have no interest in supporting her in any way, shape or form. You can't throw enough things down the abyss with a person like that."
His disdain for Love, however, doesn't extend as far as accusing her of murdering her husband Kurt Cobain, whose death in 1994 was ruled as suicide.
At a Colorado Q&A last week, a fan stood up and said, "So I recently saw Soaked In Bleach and the other one, the HBO one, and I feel like there was a lot of unnecessary rivalry between the bands... because I like all types of music, so I talked to some friends, and they were like, 'Oh I hate so and so', and ... do you think Courtney killed Kurt?"
Unsurprisingly, Corgan is unimpressed by the question, which seemed to come from nowhere. "Are you legitimately asking me this question here?" he replied. "If you care to answer it," came the fan's unabashed response. "No I don’t care to answer because I think it’s - what does that have to do with me? You started off talking about inter-band rivalry and then you got onto conspiracy theory."

Meanwhile, Corgan recently lamented the lack of evolution in rock today - claiming that Radiohead were the last guitar band to do anything new.
