More about: Azealia BanksTyler, The Creator
Azealia Banks has hit out at the decision to ban Tyler, The Creator from entering the UK, blaming the decision on unfair racial prejudice.
In a series of tweets, Banks criticised the ban for not being consistent, saying it was unfair for Tyler to be singled out for distasteful lyrics, when artists like Eminem are not.
She added: "Oh yeah that's right... Eminem is white so he gets the courtesy of being forgiven in the public eye...".
Earlier this week, Tyler, The Creator axed shows at Reading & Leeds, Belfast and Dublin due to "circumstances" - before revealing that he was banned from the UK for 3-5 years due to "old lyrics".
So if the UK is banning Tyler the creator for some old lyrics about harming women they should ban Eminem too?

Eminem has OLD ASS LYRICS that lean towards harming women.. So if they're bringing up old shit... They gotta bring out all the old shit

Tyler is just a nerd who is not going to harm anyone. I think banning him from the UK is very very unfair.

Society just needs to be consistent with its outrage.

Just to say, I don't think anyone should be banned from anywhere for creating art. I only chose Em be he is the most mainstream example

Yesterday, a spokesperson declined to comment on specific cases but said: "Coming to the UK is a privilege."
