Yesterday afternoon, Youtube announced a brand new initiative called Youtube Red. A subscription service that allows you to watch Youtube without adverts for a fee.

The new service will also allow you to stream millions of videos and vast catalogues of music, offline. The service will set you back around £6.99 if you're streaming from your computer or Android device but £8.99 if you're using an iOS device.

Subscribers will also be treated to access to Google Play Music. Subscribers to this streaming service will, understandably, be given access to Youtube Red however the ad-supported version of the video website will still exist to the rest of us as we know it.

The launch date for this new initiative is 28 October and acts as response to a dry run of Youtube's Music Key service which found that fans didn't just want ad-free access to music, they wanted to use them across of all Youtube.
