It's the news that all Deftones fans have been waiting for - with the band finally confirming the release of their new album.

The White Pony stars, who have been laying down songs for a new album for quite some time. Frontman Chino Moreno last year claimed that the follow-up to 2012's immaculate Koi No Yokan would drop in September 2015. It didn't but now there seems t be light at the end of the tunnel - with guitarist Stephen Carpenter announcing the release date.

“[We’re] sitting around waiting for the release of our new record,” Carpenter said. “Comes out 8 April, and we have some dates in Texas in March,” Carpenter told ESP Guitars

So, we can hope to hear new material soon. Deftones will be hitting the road again after they pulled the remainder of their tour dates this month when they revealed that they were among those in the Bataclan when ISIS terrorists struck an Eagles Of Death Metal gig - killing 89 people.

The band are also set to perform at Download 2016, alongside the likes of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Rammstein
