As previously reported, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke back in 2014, claiming that he had sexually and emotionally abused her over the course of a decade. Last month, a judge ruled that she could not be released from her contract, and is still obliged to record four more albums under Dr. Luke's label.
Yesterday (9 March) The Wrap reported the Sony was expected to end its working relationship with Dr. Luke a year ahead of his contract's expiration. The story cited "knowledgeable individuals", one of whom said, "The fact that this hasn’t already been taken care of is confusing, especially for people in the building."
Now, representatives for Dr. Luke have said, "This is not true. Luke has an excellent relationship with Sony. His representatives are in regular contact with executives at the highest levels at Sony and this has never come up."
A spokesperson for Sony declined to comment on the reports when Rolling Stone reached out to them.
