It was only yesterday that New Order were confirmed to play at this year's Glastonbury, and already, there's a petition to get them to perform their World Cup song 'World In Motion' alongside John Barnes and Keith Allen.

After headliners Adele, Muse and Coldplay were revealed over the past few months, yesterday (30 March), Glastonbury unveiled the rest of its bill. As previously reported, it includes the likes of Foals, Beck, New Order, Disclosure, The 1975, Grimes, Savages and many more.

It's New Order that have pricked the ears of many though, given that their appearance coincides with Euro 2016. Back in 1990, they recorded World Cup song 'World In Motion', which featured a now infamous rap by footballer John Barnes (which starts at about 2.30 of the video below).

"It's Euro 2016 this year," reads the petition, which has so far gained a rather lacklustre 272 signatures. "England genuinely have a decent squad (debatable). We could win the trophy (also debatable). But nevertheless, for the punters in the mud at Glastonbury this year, surely it'll be brilliant if John Barnes and Keith Allen came on stage to perform with New Order for the Three Lions anthem 'World in Motion'.

"Let's make this happen. Should England qualify from the group stage, the performance would go down a storm."

Meanwhile, New Order plus special guests will be performing at Manchester's Castlefield Bowl on Saturday 9 July.  For tickets and more information, visit here
