David Bowie's wife Iman is mourning the loss of her mother - just months after the death of the model's husband.
The 'Heroes' legend passed away on 10 January, 2016 - just days after he released his immaculate final album Blackstar on his 69th birthday. He was laid to rest at an intimate cremation in Bali, "in accordance with the Buddhist rituals” - before his loved ones scattered his ashes shortly after his funeral.
A source has told Entertainment Tonight that she has recently lost her mother, Maryan Abdulmajid - before she herself confirmed the news and paid tribute on Facebook:
Saddened by death of my mom Maryan Baadi. May Allah grant her the highest jennah. I beg that you respect my family's privacy during our time of grief #ripmaryanbaadi

Speaking of her relationship with her mother with The Guardian in 2014, she said: "My mother taught me this. She said: 'If God says to you: "I will grant you any wish you want – what would you ask for?" And I went: 'Er…' And she said: 'If you have to think about it, you're not worth it!' And I said: 'Why?' and she said: 'Look. Ask for everything! Ask for everything!'"
She continued: "My mother was an activist, so was my father. They came from a generation of young Somalis who were actively involved in getting independence for Somalia in 1960. So I remember when I was five how busy our house was. People would come in the middle of the night, meetings after meetings, and protests and all that. I grew up in the midst of all of that. And she instilled that in me. The fact that nobody can take your self-worth unless you give your consent.
"She always said to me that there is nothing that the boys can do – because I had two brothers – that you can't do, if not better."

Iman has kept a low profile since Bowie's death - but the family did release a statement to thank fans for their support, before his son shared a letter from a cancer nurse in honour of his father, and he announced that he himself was expecting a child.
