They may have lost out to winners Ukraine, but Russia's Eurovision adventure was certainly pretty colourful - with images of their entrant Sergey Lazarev seemingly posing for fetish porn appearing online. The Kremlin's response is suitably ridiculous.

Lazarev came third for Russia at the weekend, finishing with an impressive 491 points for Russia with 'You Are The Only One' -  an epic and romantic superballad. Much less romantic, however, are the images that surfaced online showing his porn star past.

This one acquired by The Sun shows him sitting naked on a bed as he holds a saw to the mouth of a scantily clad woman chained to a radiator.

The Sun reports that images of Lazarev nude have appeared across gay porn sites, with the Kremlin said to have hired computer experts to wipe them from the internet. Not only that, but the Russian government say that these images are not for porn at all - but to highlight domestic abuse. Yes, really.

“The picture of the girl handcuffed was supposed to be arty and highlight domestic violence issues but it looks like they are glamorising it," a source said. “Officials don’t want this photo getting out because it looks so weird and creepy and could scupper their bid.

“Russia has spent an absolute fortune on Sergey, it is really desperate to win this year.  It has copied every winning formula to try to appeal to as much as Europe as possible.”

Another Eurovision highlight was Cyprus - who thoroughly creeped out much of the planet with their insane performance
