Not - as you'd be forgiven for thinking - a strip club loyalty scheme, Courtesy Tier are in fact a new Brooklyn-based three piece with a fine line in lean, angular guitar work not a million miles away from fellow Brooklyn residents, Radio 4.
Check out debut single, 'Cold' below:
If 'Cold' sounds fresh and yet naggingly familiar, it's probably down to the disparate cultural influences that Omer Leibovitz (vocals, guitar), Alex Picca (bass) and Layton Weedeman (drums) bring to the table.
Leibovitz hails from Israel and West Africa, Weedeman's world is the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia and Picca’s Southern upbringing gifted him some strong love for Bluegrass.
Like all the best cocktails, it's far more than the sum of its parts and it all comes together on forthcoming debut 'Everyone's Okay' released on September 9th carrying some impressive alt. rock royalty cred with Chris "Frenchie" Smith (...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead) and Peter Katis (Interpol) both contributing their production talents.
But as impressive a chain as that it, Courtesy Tier have the potential to be so much more than just another link. Invest a little time and you'll be re-paid handsomely.
